Today, August 26, a new student dormitory for 350 places was commissioned at the Karakalpakstan Medical Institute. The event was attended by the staff of the institute, faculty, students, and representatives of the mass media.
In his speech, the rector of the institute, Olimbay Halimov, spoke about the conditions created for young people, in particular, about the work aimed at providing students with housing, and congratulated everyone on this joyful event.
Within the framework of large-scale reforms being implemented in the higher education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan, special attention is paid to the issue of providing students with comfortable living conditions. The commissioning of this housing on the eve of the 34th anniversary of our Independence was a great gift for students. These efforts are inextricably linked with the tasks of building an additional 150,000 student dormitories by 2030 in accordance with the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 11, 2023.
The main goal of the institute’s student dormitory is to create a comfortable and safe educational environment for students from remote areas and low-income families, expanding their opportunities for studying. Each room in the dormitory is designed for 3 or 4 students and is organized on the basis of a separate room system.

About 6 billion soums were spent on the repair work at the expense of extra-budgetary funds of the Institute. Favorable conditions created in the student dormitory serve to organize the process of students’ learning more effectively and meaningfully.
