The National Flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan
The law “On the National Flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan” was adopted on December 14, 1992 at the 12th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The national flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan is a symbol of the state sovereignty of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The national flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan is a rectangular panel consisting of three horizontal stripes of blue, yellow and green colors. The yellow stripe is separated by white and red edges.
The blue color of the flag is a symbol of water and spring. The yellow color indicates that most of Karakalpakstan consists of deserts. The green color is a sign of the renewal of nature, spirituality, trust and the sun. The crescent moon is the sacred embodiment of Muslims, the image of the five stars is a symbol of life and trust in the five most ancient cities of Karakalpakstan. The national flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan represents the Republic of Karakalpakstan in the international arena: during visits of official delegations of the Republic of Karakalpakstan to foreign countries, in international organizations, at conferences, world exhibitions, and sports competitions.
The national flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan is equal to the flags of other countries in the international arena.
Citizens of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as other residents living here, must respect the National flag of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
