The activities of the international department of the Karakalpak Medical Institute (KMI) is conducted in accordance with the regulations of the Republic of Uzbekistan for International Cooperation. The priority of the international activities of KMI is the internationalization of education and the search for new forms of international cooperation conducive to the harmonization of Uzbek education, improve the quality of the educational process and training of highly qualified specialists.
To ensure that the regulatory activities of the university in the field of international cooperation have been developed following documents:
- The job descriptions of employees of ID KMI;
- The position of the reception and training of foreign citizens in the KMI;
- Regulation on the direction of foreign students and staff of KMI.
International Department in the Organizational Structure of the Karakalpak
Medical Institute
The Department of International Relations (IR) at the Karakalpak Medical Institute reports directly to the Rector of the Institute. It is headed by a head of department and consists of four main divisions:
International Educational Programs and Projects Division
• Provides informational and consulting support to KSMI staff and students on the preparation and submission of documents for participation in international educational programs;
• Establishes cooperation with foreign educational institutions, foundations, and international organizations for the implementation of joint educational programs and projects;
• Assists in the admission of foreign citizens (students, postgraduates, and teachers) to KSMI within the framework of international educational programs, supervises their studies at the academy, and provides documents confirming their stay at KSMI;
• Develops project proposals to obtain grants for the development of international educational activities at KSMI and submits them to various foundations and organizations;
• Manages the database of international scholarship programs and educational opportunities abroad.
Information and Analytical Division
• Analyzes the international activities of KSMI and prepares relevant reports and informational materials upon request from the academy’s structural units and external organizations, and presents them to the administration;
• Organizes planning and reporting on international activities of the faculties, departments, and other units of KSMI;
• Keeps records of all invited and registered foreign citizens arriving at KSMI;
• Maintains a database of KSMI staff, master’s students, and students traveling abroad;
• Ensures the maintenance and updating of the international department’s web pages on the academy’s official website.
Organizational and Protocol Division
• Ensures the preparation of protocols for ceremonial events and activities held at KSMI;
• Prepares protocols for receiving official guests visiting KSMI;
• Organizes and conducts international conferences within the scope of the ID’s activities;
• Arranges the reception of foreign students, postgraduates, and lecturers coming to KSMI within the framework of international cooperation;
• Provides the administration with necessary information for organizational matters related to the department’s activities.
Visa Division
• Processes invitations for foreign citizens to enter the Republic of Uzbekistan for visiting KSMI;
• On behalf of the Head of the ID and the Rector, handles paperwork with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding visa support in diplomatic missions of foreign countries;
• Keeps records of all invited and registered foreign citizens arriving at KSMI;
• Assists KSMI staff with document preparation for obtaining visas when traveling to foreign higher educational institutions.
